Discover Marlborough

Nibbles

Discover the Marlborough Sounds marine environment

You will be collected from the Bay of Many Coves on Cougar Line's elegant "Sounds Discovery" for a private cruise to the beautiful Mistletoe Bay. As you sail through our pristine marine environment you will have the opportunity to view playful seals, dolphins and rare marine birds such as gannets or little blue penguins. You may even spot some orca.

Discover the Queen Charlotte Track.

Enjoy a guided walk along the less visited Mistletoe Peninsular. This part of the Marlborough Sounds is suitable for all weather and seasons. During your walk you will experience the full spectrum of native bush as you would on the Queen
Charlotte Track as the trail leads through spectacular beech forest and a variety of lowland native New Zealand bush with
a broad spectrum of New Zealand’s native birds to accompany you with their song. Bellbirds, fantails and kereru all call this region home and can be very friendly as you walk through the trails.

This is an easy one to one and half hour walk although good walking shoes are recommended as it can be slippery.

Discover Marlborough cuisine.

A Bay of Many Coves Chef accompanies you on the boat and will prepare hors d’hourves followed by a 3 course gourmet lunch matched with the best of Marlborough wines during your cruise. With a "sounds to plate" philosophy your personal lunch may include Ora King salmon, scampi, paua, mussels, wild venison or pork, Cranky Goats cheese and dessert from local fresh produce. Our Sommelier will match the food to our special Marlborough wines for a true cuisine taste sensation.

Discover more of the Marlborough Sounds

Enjoy your after dinner coffee and dessert in the beautiful golden sands of Ratima Bay, followed by a visit to the salmon farm where marine mammals can often be found enjoying their local catch. Here you are also likely to see a variety of shearwater and terns. Hear the stories of the salmon farm and see and hear about the New Zealand fur seal. Feed the tame blue cod in Double Bay and see the homes where the locals holiday in style before returning to Bay of Many Coves feeling relaxed, exercised and rejuvenated.
